Neil Lakhlani’s story begins with a responsibility to the land.

His grandfather arrived in Kenya in 1907. Growing up near Mount Kenya, around his family’s mango farm, Neil learned to pay attention to the land and the people who depend on it.

That curiosity took him to England, then to the United States, where he studied geological oceanography and how hurricanes reshape Florida’s shorelines.

Across 38 years in the field, one principle has stayed with him: tell the truth about what is actually there.

Today, Neil directs operations at GeoTech Environmental, led by his wife Rita as President. The team’s experience spans more than 5,000 projects.

His meditation practice reinforces the habit of slowing down and listening carefully. For clients, that means honest findings, even when the answers are difficult to hear.

As Broker of Record at GeoTech Realty, Neil brings environmental understanding into the commercial decision, helping people understand a property before they commit to it.

His family’s support for children in Kenya and elephant conservation reflects that same responsibility beyond the workplace.

The standard behind GeoTech is personal. Pay attention. Understand the conditions. Tell the truth. If your property needs an honest look, start a conversation with Neil.

Who we are

Two GeoTech companies. One integrated advantage.

Established in 1993, GeoTech was created to help businesses in Florida's most environmentally sensitive industries (auto repair, dry cleaning, electroplating, gas stations, manufacturing, and used-oil processing) navigate violations, contamination, and compliance. Today our clients range from property owners and investors to law firms, developers, lenders, municipalities, and state and federal agencies.

What sets us apart is depth on both the real estate and the environmental side of a high-risk property, delivered through two affiliated firms under common ownership: commercial real estate brokerage through GeoTech Realty, Inc., and environmental engineering through GeoTech Environmental, Inc. Each firm holds its own license and works within its own scope; together they identify environmental liabilities, address regulatory compliance, and devise practical risk-mitigation strategies. In specialized markets like gas stations, auto repair, and industrial warehouses, where legal liability and environmental concerns can be daunting, that combination is our edge.

Over more than 30 years and 5,000+ projects, more than 92% of our clients have come back: a track record built on skill, integrity, responsiveness, and enduring relationships.

Our mission

GeoTech was built on a principle Nilesh Lakhlani has held since founding the firm: slow down, pay attention, and tell clients the truth about what you find, even when it's not what they want to hear. That's not a tagline. It's the actual standard behind every environmental assessment, every remediation, and every real estate transaction GeoTech has completed.

Our vision

Shaping the commercial real estate sector by preserving our environment while benefiting all species.

GeoTech Leadership

Nilesh “Neil” Lakhlani

Director of Operations · Qualifying Broker

Founded GeoTech Environmental in 1993. Licensed geologist and Florida real estate broker, with more than three decades in environmental and commercial property work.

Read bio

Nilesh Lakhlani has spent more than three decades building a career on a simple idea: pay attention, and tell people what's actually true. That instinct took him from research on how hurricanes reshape coastlines to founding GeoTech Environmental in 1993, and later, alongside Raksha "Rita" Lakhlani, GeoTech Realty.

He built two firms instead of one for a specific reason. Most brokers can talk about zoning and cap rates. Very few can also tell a client, with engineering certainty, whether a property has a problem that will surface in month four of a deal. Nilesh doesn't think of Environmental and Realty as two businesses; he thinks of them as one discipline applied to two different problems.

Today he serves as Director of Operations at GeoTech Environmental and Qualifying Broker at GeoTech Realty. He is a licensed geologist, holds a PCC License (Certified Pollutant Storage Contractor, PCC 1256803), and is a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker (License #BK3310251).
